Are Our Kids Being Brainwashed?

Brainwashing techniques have been documented as far back as the Egyptian Book of the Dead and used by abusive spouses and parents, self-proclaimed psychics, cult leaders, secret societies, revolutionaries, and dictators to bring others under their thumbs and manipulate them seemingly willingly.” (wikihow)

I hear stories of teenagers being kicked out of home, sent to mental institutions and made homeless living on the streets.

And I have to wonder, is it because of their chosen behaviour which doesn’t meet the rules of the parents, or behaviour caused by brainwashing, that is, repeated abusive and negative expectations of parents or partners?

And why do I keep hearing, oh that’s teenagers for you, tut, tut?

Is so-called typical teenage behaviour largely the product of constant psychological verbal abuse?

So how much are drugs, depression and suicides caused by the same constant verbal abuse?

It’s a tragedy.

I’m appalled.

Wake up to the damage you’re doing to our kids.

This is not discipline, it’s mentally damaging and life changing.

Life destroying.

Unfairly judgemental.

These are young souls, maybe old souls, who are coming to terms with their own destiny, which lies before them.

Let them be free to explore their own destinies.

Not yours.

The world is changing fast.

They deserve to have a chance to face the new world in their own ways.

Instead of yours.

Please, let’s save our kids, our vulnerable teenagers, from long-term psychological damage.

We need to honour and respect these new souls.

Our children will inherit the Earth.

Love and peace.

Introducing the Abracadabra Moment.

You can do magic.

Just by using words.

Is this what the word ‘abracadabra’ really means.

That every day, in every moment, we’re doing our own magic with our words.

Preposterous?

I believe it’s a hidden meaning of the famous words.

In any language.

Our words create thoughts.

Thoughts have power.

Just by speaking them.

I call it the ‘Abracadabra Moment’.

We do it all the time.

Usually without thinking we’re thinking it.

It’s the secret of abracadabra.

It’s the principle of the Law of Attraction.

Say the words we wish to attract often – and words we don’t even think to attract – and that’s what we attract.

To give you an example, in every moment of our waking lives the media is bombarding us with words.

It’s those words – and all the others – that create an ‘abracadabra moment’ every day of our waking lives.

But we don’t realise it.

Even our critical words directed at our kids are creating their reality.

Even though it’s not our intention.

Sad.

Because those words all create reality.

Our own and that of our innocent kids.

Think about it.

Here are positive messages we can use to create wonderful ‘abracadabra moments’.

For ourselves and our kids.

Think about it.

Love and peace.

What If Wishes Came True.

When we were still hunters back in the days of the cave man we expected danger.

So we were alert to danger all the time.

Danger was our expectation.

But now, we no longer live in a dangerous jungle.

Or do we?

What if today is the ‘new jungle’?

The ‘concrete jungle’.

The corporate jungle?

The technology jungle?

And it’s Darwin’s survival of the fittest?

We act and make decisions based on survival.

Our own everyday survival.

In a jungle.

Whatever kind of jungle we like to call it.

But what if we were to remove the jungle?

In our minds.

Because that’s what it is.

The jungle of our imagination.

What if we don’t participate in this jungle mentality.

Think differently.

What if we don’t think – and act – as if we are about to be attacked by a lion.

We do have that choice.

It’s only the information around us that says otherwise.

Even if our data gets compromised.

Even if the company we’re subscribed to gets hacked.

We have the choice not to participate.

It’s what the stories keep telling us.

What we wish for might come true.

Both the good and the bad.

And we can choose what we wish for.

What Happens When You Die?

A long time ago, far far away, I had a chance meeting with a Wise Woman.

She became a good friend.

Until she died of cancer a few years later.

She was the Librarian at the Melbourne Theosophical Society.

Their Headquarters is in Adyar, India.

With a motto of ‘There is no religion higher than truth’ they encourage the study of all religions.

I was in.

I threw myself into my own study of all spiritual philosophies.

Including what happens when we die.

Today I feel that our soul survives this lifetime.

And is reborn.

Lately I’ve been thinking:

Do I really want to leave this beautiful world?

With all its problems?

What if my next life is on an alien planet with no trees or birds or the smell of cut grass?

What if it’s all black-and-white without colour?

Or what if it’s a world of thought without physical form?

This is not such a bad place to live if only we could clean up the mess.

The poverty.

The destruction.

So let’s do it.

All of us who care.

You and me.

We already live in a world of thought.

Our thoughts need physical bodies to work though.

How can we clean up our beautiful planet alone?

Others are trying.

But how can we do it alone.

I know the answer:

With our thoughts.

Trouble is, isn’t it our thoughts that have created and maintained today’s messed up world.

From the pollution to the violence.

Physically others are doing all they can.

Then there’s our thoughts.

It’s your thoughts, together with mine and others, that could do the trick.

With our thought we can be there, everywhere, in a thought.

We can avoid the cruel television dramas.

The violent movies.

The computer war games.

The selective brain washing evening news.

We can replace that with our thoughts of the world we want, not the world that amuses us.

“With our thoughts we make the world,” the Buddha said.

Is it our only hope to create the world we want.

Think big but let’s think change.

Think about it.

Love and peace.

Neil.

How Hard Is It To Change The World For The Better?

We could do it just by thinking.

There’s nothing to do: except thinking.

Eric Clapton sang about it.

Okay, he was singing about a woman.

Or maybe not.

But you and I can do it by thinking.

“With our thoughts we make the world,” said the Buddha.

So much of his thought had a similar message.

What we think is what we get.

The trouble is, do we think about the world we want to have or do we think about what entertains us?

Isn’t the world we have right now pretty much the kind of world we watch for entertainment?

The dramas.

The violent movies.

The war games.

The evening news.

What we chat about.

There are ethical views out there than can bring into reality the kind of world we want.

If we want peace, for example, how peaceful are our thoughts?

“Thoughts are things,” wrote Napoleon Hill as the title of the opening of the first chapter of his bestselling book ‘Think & Grow Rich’.

I’m pleased to live in a world where today there are many people and many movements focussed on ethical, world changing topics.

Permaculture is making a difference in a more sustainable world with respect for our planet.

We can surely do the same.

“We but mirror the world,” said Mahatma Gandhi.

So what are you thinking?

Love and Peace.

What Is a Soul Mate?

Everyone today seems to be searching for their soul mate.
Or do they mean twin soul?
Or twin flame?
What is the difference, if there is one, between a twin soul and a soul mate?
Have you ever thought about it?
Whenever someone talks to me about searching for their soul mate I ask them,
“Or do you mean twin soul?”
And most of the time I get a blank look as if to say,
“I never thought of that.”
So what is the difference between a soul mate and a twin soul? If there is one.
Twin souls are, well, like twins.
They come from the same soul, or womb, and are here to achieve a common or similar goal, either together or independently.
Both Darwin and Wallace arrived at much the same theory of evolution at the same time, so they were twin souls who, rather than working in collaboration, developed the same theories, concurrently but independently.
Like insurance, if one didn’t get it the other one probably would.
Logarithms, you’ll be interested to know, were discovered by both John Napier of Scotland and Joost Burgi of Switzerland around the same time.
The microchip was invented twice within half a year of each other, first by Jack Kilby (1958) and then Robert Noyce (1959).
So what are soul mates and how are they different from a twin soul?
Soul mates are different souls, mates, who may have known each other in past lives, who feel a strong bond with each other or who have agreed to meet up to help each other or to learn from each other, often as a teacher for the other.
“You complete me” are the words of a soul mate.
“I am complete” are the words of a twin soul.
They can be your closest friend or someone who irritates you no end, depending on what their purpose is in being mates and what you need to teach/learn.
I’ve been told that I see my greatest faults in my partner.
Soul mate.
I’d like to think that the subjects of some of the greatest love stories in history might have agreed to meet again as soul mates to live out uncompleted lives.
To complete each other.
Love at first sight.
Did Lancelot and Guinevere and other tragic love stories return as soul mates?
What if you were one of them.
There are many theories on the question of what is a soul?
Mine is that the essence of our soul or higher self is what animates our physical body.
Not our soul but its essence.
Imagine that your soul is like a vast ocean which began as a clear ocean of water aeons ago.
With each lifetime a bucketful of the water from the clear ocean is drawn as the essence of a single lifetime.
That is not your soul but the essence of your soul.
The experiences of each lifetime you’ve ever lived accumulate in that ocean and therefore in that bucket of water, let’s say as colours, a different colour for each experience which are returned to the ocean when we die.
Suppose this happens over and over with each lifetime and the once clear water of the ocean becomes coloured with the experiences of every lifetime.
Each life adds more colours (experiences) to your ocean and each new life’s individual essence contains the colours (experiences) of that life to add to the ocean of coloured water.
I’d prefer to call it essence not soul.
Atman which is Brahman.
Essence which is soul.
So twin souls would be two bucketfuls draw from the same ocean.
Soul mates, on the other hand, are bucketfuls of coloured water drawn from different oceans.
Then there are group souls.
Group souls need to socialise.
Have you ever wondered why a flock of birds in flight all change direction at precisely the same moment?
It’s because most birds and animals are members of a group soul.
So were we, I believe, in ages past.
Then we, at some point, break away and individuate.
Then we are complete.

Love and Peace,

Neil

How To Romance Your Life

What do I mean ‘romance your life? Is it an idea we were born with, that our lives were meant to be different to what we’ve been told?
How are we to make that shift from what we’ve been told to a different reality, one that was how we were meant to live?

Have you ever been in love?

Then you will know the feeling of being in love and how everything takes on a new exhilaration in life, like you’re floating on air.
That’s what I mean about life as it was meant to be lived.
A famous movie star once said she always performed her best work when she was in love.
I think it was Bette Davis.

What does ‘romancing’ mean then?

Why can’t life always be a ‘quality or feeling of mystery, excitement and remoteness from everyday life’ as described by a dictionary definition of ‘romance’?
Does this describe your life right now? Or not?
It’s a mystery, isn’t it?
Because, after all, I’ve got to believe it’s how we were meant to live, don’t you think?
Surely it’s where we are being drawn when we have feelings of inadequacy, failure, depression or midlife crisis.
It’s what’s going on whenever we feel unhappy about our lives. Isn’t it?
What if adjusting to romance is the way to fix it.
“Follow your bliss and doors will open where you never knew they existed” said mythology author Joseph Campbell.
Bliss = Romance.

Want to know more?

I hope the ideas in my new book ‘Romancing Your Life & Changing The World’ (buy your copy above) will bring you a little closer to that idealised state of existence, life as she was meant to be lived, the true romance that is your life.

Have You Ever Been Down And Out?

Are you disappointed with life?

Have you been struck a cruel blow?

Are you struggling to survive?

Do you feel your life has failed you?

This was how I felt when my life crashed and burned.

I was bankrupt.

I thought my life was over.

Then I came across this quote:

“Only at the bottom can you decide whether to live or die.”

I decided to live.

What about you?

Do you want to live or die?

I had decided to live.

But I had nothing.

I was at the bottom.

How can I live with nothing?

Alone and homeless.

I moved to the country and lived in an old caravan for the next five years.

With nothing.

People started to care for me.

I became involved in the town’s community.

I was alive.

Maybe for the first time in my life.

All the while feeling like a leaf in the wind.

Free and being blown wherever the wind took me.

Going with the flow.

Not forcing things.

Anything.

And the wind opened me to experiences I never imagined I would have living a ‘normal’ city life.

I was alone and free.

I had let go and allowed the Universe to take over.

Was this a new way to live.

Trusting something I didn’t understand?

Was I finally trusting the Universe?

Was my life’s disaster turning into a new way to live?

Trusting?

Going with the flow?

Small miracles started to happen.

I can see now that the Universe had taken over.

You too?

I’ve written everything that happened for you to read and learn from.

It’s here.

Because I’m a writer I have managed to craft a fun book that’s easy to read.

I still have nothing but, in spite of that, I’m leading an amazing life.

Read my book and let’s change the world together.

Quietly.

Love and Peace.

Neil.

Is this What The Paranormal Looks Like?

First there’s a ghost, a friendly ghost, an innocent granny ghost.

Or maybe she wasn’t so innocent.

I’m asking you to decide.

Which is how my new non-fiction book starts off.

Not a novel, it’s a true story.

I’d called to visit Florence after work and I was greeted at the door by a woman who looked like she’d seen a ghost.

She had.

Her ghost concealed a message from the past.

From the Regency past.

I mean 200 years ago.

Also the time of the First Fleets of convicts to Australia.

The book is called ‘The Royal Physician Who Knew Too Much.’.

It’s a true historic mystery that I lived for 20 years to try to solve.

But did I?

You decide.

The book took me 10 years to write.

To research.

To edit, edit and re-edit.

I want you to read it for yourself.

Because pretty much everything is driven by paranormal events, clues, chance events, unexpected meetings, channelings, psychic warnings, spiritual inspiration.

You can read about it here.

And order your paperback copy online.

So I’m wondering, has the paranormal become the new normal.

Maybe this book will decide.

Love and Peace.

Neil.

Do You Talk To Yourself?

What if, what if the talk you could tell yourself might be a little more positive than all the other voices you’re hearing every day.

To nudge out the other talk.

Social media.

Text messages,

The news.

Friends.

And of course, yourself.

There’s lots of talk out there, every minute, every hour, every day.

But then, what about you?

Do you ever think that maybe you, yes you, might have something important to say to your self among all the chatter you are getting.

All the time.

What about you.

And then, what are you hearing?

Is it positive?

I’m guessing it may be mostly negative.

About you.

About the world.

Let’s stop it.

Why not take control of the quality of what you’re having directed at you every day.

At your mind.

Because what you think is going to be what you’ll get.

Maybe what you’re telling yourself – and what everyone else is telling you – is creating your life.

So the question is:

What about talking to yourself.

What about changing your thoughts to what you really want to know.

Like from negative to positive.

For example, to success, prosperity, healthier, more loveable.

I know a way you can talk to yourself.

So what do you want?

Prosperity?

Health?

To be more loveable?

Take your pick.

I know where you can find the very thoughts that you would prefer to be thinking.

Thoughts you can play that talk the kind of thoughts you would like to hear.

To replace those thoughts you’d prefer not to hear.

Then choose for your self exactly what you’d prefer to hear.

Instead of all those voices you’d prefer not.

I’ve used such programs for years.

For me they work.

You really can choose the talk you talk to yourself.

Success, prosperity, health, loveableness.

This one is for finding success (RIGHT HERE).

Go for it.

Love and Peace.

Neil

What’s The Secret To A Natural All Time High?

I know because I’ve found it.

Let me explain.

Okay, like James Bond, let’s take on the world, but in a slightly different way.

Positive thought + creativity.

That’s my own formula.

It works.

For 10 years I was working on my book ‘My Amazing Romantic Paranormal Regency Adventure’.

I was living in a treetop flat with a view to the ocean.

What more could I ask for a place to write my heart out.

A very creative life.

A very positive outlook.

Every day, once my mind was in gear and the words were starting to flow, I was on a high.

A natural, creative, positive high.

So every day for 10 years I lived the good life.

On an all time high.

Simply by being creative in a so positive and natural environment.

I know, not everyone can do that.

There were times I lived the exact opposite.

I grew up in poverty.

I’ve been bankrupt.

So I’ve known both extremes.

It’s enough that I found the positive, creative life living close to Nature.

And I used that to write.

The book is the evidence.

It’s there if you want to see for yourself the result of living an all time natural high.

If you want that kind of life now you can create it in your mind instead.

Don’t be afraid of GUIDED SELF HELP meditation.

Guided meditation to create your inner creative, positive, natural world.

Test it for yourself here (RIGHT HERE).

Love and Peace.

Neil.

Has The Paranormal Become The New Normal?

What is normal?

Has your life been normal?

What about when you experience serendipitous events?

Or at times when you are moved to say, it’s a small world isn’t it.

For 10 years, immediately after I was hit by a traumatic event, paranormal events turned my life to magic.

Everything flowed.

I got myself into scrapes that somehow became positive experiences.

The paranormal became normal with a bit of magic.

Coincidences.

Doors opening.

Special people appeared.

There were romantic experiences.

I was leading the life of a movie star scripted by the paranormal.

So I’ve written the book with every detail included.

It’s called ‘The Royal Physician Who Knew Too Much’ and it’s a blast.

Fun and entertaining they said.

Read more here.

My life is so much the richer for it.

I’m left wondering, what is normal?

Is normal what we make it?

Did I create my own normal?

Do you create your own normal?

Does everyone have their own normal?

Where everyone’s normal is different?

What if?

How do we know?

And is what we call the paranormal, beyond the normal, available to us all to expand our own lives, our own world?

Or the whole world?

What if beyond the normal is the new frontier?

Love and Peace

Neil

Has the New Age come and gone?

What happened to the New Age of the ’60s and ’70s?

The so called New Age of Aquarius swept in like a hurricane.

I was quite carried away with the excitement of change.

Maybe that was just a kneejerk reaction, not the real deal.

And it seems like the New Age came and left just like a passing storm.

According to popular opinion, all the time the real New Age of Aquarius was only beginning.

Because the majority view is that astrologically the New Age has another 2,000 years to run its course.

So let’s relax and see it as just a small step into the water bearer sign of Aquarius and not a plunge into the deep end.

Today I want to step back and to look at the big picture.

I’d like to believe that together we can make a difference in the world even if only because the catch phrase and salutation we used then, “Love and Peace”, still has a few thousand years to make its mark.

So what happened in the ’60s and ’70s to sweep me away with change?

In the ’60s The Beatles arrived.

In 1970 Paul McCartney sang ‘Let It Be’.

In ’71 John Lennon sang ‘Imagine’.

His Moon was in Aquarius.

And in ’71 Don McLean released ‘Starry Starry Night’ about painter Vincent Van Gogh.

The adorable Muppets were born in the late ’60s and revolutionised children’s television.

I was one of five who launched Animal Liberation in the late ’70s to address animal cruelty and to promote free range farm products.

Today free range eggs make up 40% of all eggs sold in supermarkets in Australia compared to zero percent 50 years ago.

A win for cruelty to animals.

At the same time I felt like the world was coming to an end.

It didn’t.

I still remember the feeling of those times.

Chances are you probably don’t because most likely you weren’t born yet.

Bob Dylan sang that the ‘Times Are a-Changin’.

It was a time of marijuana and free love.

I wasn’t interested in either.

Yes, I was a long haired bearded hippie then.

At the same time I was a ‘respectable’ advertising copywriter.

(I worked for some of the hottest ad agencies in Melbourne.)

A group of us started a commune on 40 acres which fell flat on its face.

We were unprepared, under funded and undisciplined.

But it was very aquarian.

In the late ’70s I was the first official member of the new Permaculture Association started by two academics from the University of Tasmania.

Today Permaculture is a worldwide phenomenon.

I had plans to create a self-sufficient Permaculture acre and live off the grid.

It never happened.

In 1962 I learned Chakra Yoga and a unique healing relaxation technique from Australia’s first full time yoga teacher.

Margrit Segesman’s interest in breathing and relaxation techniques combined with an interest in the expansion of consciousness were subjects she had discussed with Carl Jung when they met in the 1920s.

He suggested she should take up the study of yoga and yogic philosophy.

After spending time in Indian ashrams, she found her guru at Rishikesh on the Tibetan border and spent about five years living in a cave as an ascetic.

I practiced her form of yoga, chakra balancing and relaxation every day for 50 years.

What, then, does the Aquarian Age stand for?

What does it mean?

Where is it going for the next 2,000 years?

Mahatma Gandhi said, “Be the change you want to see in the world.”

That’s very Aquarian too.

Maybe together we can make a difference in the world.

Aquarius is about you too — and your life for the next 2,000 years.

Look for future posts.

Namaste.

Neil.
